my friend is trying to run shoutcast dnas server which lets him stream music over local ip port 8000...hes in college and on their network, i told him he needs to set up a virtual server like i did on my home network, but he would have to go to the network administrator for that and they probably wouldnt do it anyway. is there a way to redirect the wan ip to his local ip through the url address
his wans ip is 66.206.148.254
and local is 10.10.90.43what i did for my shoutcast when i got a router was logged into the router and went to advanced and set a virtual server for my local ip and used tcp port 8000
he cant do that unless he was a network admin...my question is: is there a way to get to his local ip from the url by doing something like http://66.206.148.254/10.10.90.43:8000
i know that doesnt work, but is there a way by typing something else or putting it in some special order? thanks for the help
