Hi. Having a problem with hosting more than 10 players on a Tribes 1 server. I use a router with 2 computers networked (one for the server, one for personal computer). My bandwidth is 1.5mbs down and 256kps up. Any more than 10 players and the server lags. Tried every setting there is to try for the game itself. Other people with slightly slow connections can host servers with 20 players. Could it be my router?

Are you playing on the same server thats hosting the game or are you joining the game from your second pc?

I'm joining from a second pc. Could it also possibly be my ISP? Maybe capping bandwidth usage and/or limiting the number of simultaneous connections?

Windows 9x, 2000 Pro and XP Home/Pro editions cannot support more than 10 remote connections. If you want to have more, you'll need 2000 Server as Kirden pointed out.

It'll hold more than 10 people, but it gets laggy... I can hold up to 15 people, but with terrible lag and frequent shutdowns.

I doubt the router would be causing it to slow down. I would first suspect and check for any/all Virus, Spyware/Adware, Worm or Trojan programs on all of your systems. A AD-Aware_v6 detected program or Worm on any of your systems could be taking up just enough of your router/modem bandwidth to make the game start to lag with only a few players.
