Hello eveyone,

I am trying to achieve the following:

set up tsweb
Acet VPN connection using the OS instead f a router, as my ruoter is nt that powerful.

I have rebuilt my server wih 2 NIC's (network cards)

one is to connect to the ISP where i have a Perm IP adresss, and the other one i inend to connect it to my router or hub so that other clients can use the internet connection.

The first NIc registers the ISP IPaddress: eg 65.45.6.7 but once i connect the other NIC on my router so that clients can use it, if goes off, it does not get connected.

If i remove the cable and connect it t a Hub, it gets connected but the other address is an automatic address: 192.168.x.x

I cant use internet connections on the other machines, just on the server, because it is the one connected directy to the ISP

Any help as to how i should have connected it ?

Sounds like you haven't set up RRAS (routing and remote access).

That's what makes your server act as a router which you need to route traffic from your first NIC to the second NIC.

Go to START
Select PROGRAMS
Select Administrative Tools
Select RRAS
If the server arrow is red then you dont have RRAS set up or configured correctly.
Click on the server with the red arrow and it will give you directions on how to turn on RRAS.

Your set-up should work then.

I am seeing 2 mistake there:
1. If you have broadband router, why don't you just run your ISP directly to your router and all client machine connect to the router?

2. If you choose to connect through a server machine with 2 NIC and other clients access through it, By default you can't. Buf while ago I know that sysGate have some software that does the routing job as a router so you can passing connection through other NIC (Not sure if sysGate still have it so you have to check). But I am telling you that the software will cost lots more than just buying a broadband router (cheapest around $30 sometime cheaper if onsale).

Goodluck
