Hi,
I have a serial null-modem cable linking 2 PCs. I was just wondering what the average transfer speed for a serial null-modem cable is?

I get transfer speeds around 5-6 Kb/s. This is about the same speed as my 56K modem!!

I know serial is slow but i didnt think it should be that slow. Any ideas?

Thanks.

With a nul modem cable in theory 115 kBaud is possible, which is about 15 kByte/s. I dont know if this speed can be achieved in real....
