Subject: Segmenting the NetworkOS: WindowsCPU/Ram: Intel/1 Gb |
Comment: Hi friends, I have a network in which i have a NT server and Linux (Internet sharing) and few clients. All the clients are divided into 3 groups, 1st group is having 11 computers, 2nd group is having 9 computers and 3rd group is having 4 computers. All the computers are logging to domain(NT Server) and also getting the internet from Linux PC. Now i want to seperate the 3 groups in such a way 1st group users cannot access the 2nd and 3rd group computers in the network and vice versa, but all the three groups should login to NT Server and should be able to get internet from Linux PC. What will be the best and easy solution for above scenario. Thanks and Regards Victor Tanzania

Reply: (edit)VLAN....seperate into the stated groups, and route to the Linux and NT server for authentication and access to the internet.....you could use a Cisco switch, but I recommend Extreme Networks....Summits sound like they might fit your needs.
