I am an IT consultant and I am having serious problems with a client. I recently moved their company of 8 users to exchange server and sharepoint. They are all running outlook 2007 but my client that lives out of the city is on a satellite connection. She is having problems with sharepoint, sometimes her appointments she puts in the shared sharepoint calendar do not get synchronized. She is adding them right in outlook but the other users on sharepoint dont see the new appointment or contact even though is shows in her outlook. This only happens sometimes and I believe it is the packet loss on her satellite connection. Also it is very slow and unreliable for her, I am just wondering of any addons that would make her outlook synchronization more reliable with sharepoint, or would dial up be a more reliable option for her?

Also I am considering getting her setup on a telus 3G data plan but she only gets a good enough signal to talk on telus from upstairs in her house, I was thinking of buying an antenna and hooking up her computer, any thoughts on this and if it would be more reliable?

This does not happen when she is in the office, correct?

Have you done a speed test from her home?
You can't consider dialup until you know her sustained rate on satellite.

My experience with 3G is that its just a card that plugs into the laptop. I did not see how an antenna would help you in this situation.

What are you using to establish a secure connection to work from her home?

her speeds arn't bad, its the latancy thats the problem between 800-1000ms ping times. Right now she is connecting through outlook using secure authentication. But the username and password box does popup often for her but I believe this is because shes not running xp pro so it cant save the login details for sharepoint and exchange.

How would she be getting domain access?

She could only access in peer to peer mode.

You can't be authenicated to a domain with Home. XP Home can't even join a domain.

Non of the workstations at work are Home are they?

These clients are working with outlook on an exchange server remotely from their homes. It is only the client that is on satellite that is having problems where calendar items wont sync to sharepoint even though it shows in her local shared calendar.
