Running a cable modem with wireless

September 9, 2011 at 14:19:51
Specs: Windows 7
modem only lets one computer connect to wireless. The other computers that try it says unable to connect to the network, without even giving limited access. Wired connections work fine though

Model numbers? Is it a modem only or a modem/router combo unit?
Did you buy it or was it supplied by your ISP? Do you have a manual for it?

Cisco DPC3825 Docsis 3.0 gateway. It is a modem/router combo. It was supplied by the ISP. A user guide came in the box on a cd but is complettely useless because it just tells you what you can do with the item.

http://www.cisco.com/web/consumer/s...

if this is the user guide you are talking about then it contains instructions on the wireless setup process

Mac Filtering was on, and it was only allowing my computer MAC address to go through i disabled that and i was able to connect on my phone and my buddies laptop, i don't know about everyone else as this was late at night that i figured this out but it should be fixed now
