Hey
We just got a new computer at work and when I try to connect to our domain (the server is running Windows NT) I get the error message: RPC server not available. All the other (3pc'c) connect without a problem. The new computer that I try to connect with is using Windows XP sp3.
I've read alot of posts (both on this site and others) but none has helped me fixed my problem.
I know that the issue is not cause by any virus/spyware.
I've done the basic things like checking RPC services etc.

Ok, I am not sure the solution, but I had the same problem trying to join a laptop to my domain. In the end I gave up and reformatted the hard drive :-)
Then, it happened again on a laptop that didn't belong to me, so I could not format it, lol.
Have you done the basic checks (DNS on the computer you are joining is pointing to the DNS server) etc? Also have you checked to see if the TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service is running?
Hope you get this one sorted, it really annoyed me.
