Hello everyone
thanks for taking the time out to read this...

Ok, heres my problem.
I want to have remote access to my office from home.

I have a befsr11 router being used as the gateway to the internet, that router plugs into a netgear s524 25 port switch, that netgear plugs into a dell powerconect 2024 switch. I am basically cascading to have more connections.
Thats that...

I am using dyndns.org to update my ip address and in the linksys router i am forwarding the ports to the computer that i need to connect to example.

I need to connect to 192.168.254.33
so i use this setup

6000 to 6000 TCP 192.168.254.33

when connecting, i use for example
box.dynalias.com:6000

Its just not working, it was working until i decide to rewire and cleanup the cables from the router etc .. i dont know if the netgear or the powerconnect is block the requests somehow.

Thanks.

Hi,

Firstly check that your dyndns host has updated the IP address to your current IP,

Second check that the host you are trying to connect to is up.

Thirdly, How are you testing this. If you are testing this from within the network you are trying to connect to it will not work

Cheers

Wayne
