I have a Belkin 4 port modem, purchased yesterday. I have connected my home PC by cable and it runs perfectly. I also have my work laptop connected by cable and it won't run. If I disconnect it and connect it to my old DSL modem it runs fine. I don't want to have to have 2 modems setup. I did an auto setup with the Belkin. My laptop requires the modem has VPN pass-through. I am an ignoramus. Can anyone help please.

Is the belkin unit a router/modem combo?

If not then the only way you get more than one system connected to internet is if your ISP supplies multiple IPs which you usually have to pay extra for.

To share internet you need a router.
