Router with built-in Parental Control.

Specs: Windows Vista
Is there a router that has a built-in parental control? More specifically, I want to be able set the time when the internet goes off. I know that some versions of Windows have parental control features but I also want to control internet access for other devices such as the PlayStation 3.

So basically, I want to set the time the internet connection is passed thru to all devices connected to the router... so what router offers this feature?

Many of the newer ones do have those features. I am not sure if they even advertise it as such.

You may wish also to look at other features that may help protect your data and the types of data your kids could access.

Ideas maybe.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

You want a router that has scheduling. I used it to knock my kids off the internet at 10pm and it wouldn't come on for them until 3pm. Netgear and Dlink would be what I recommend.

How to properly post a question:

This should be a standard router feature. My linksys wrt54gs has it.

You also can do some very neat filtering by genre by switching your DNS lookup to openDNS, setting up an account there and customizing what you want to filter. The filtering is not perfectly bulletproof, but it's pretty good, and it's free.
