Whats is the advantages of running a router to share my internet instead of using my server w/ 2 nic's?

No Proxy/NAT software is needed when using a router, therefore less server resources used up. Some routers act as a hardware firewall. Routers are more expensive then a 2nd NIC.

Yes, it is true, Router is more expensive then the 2 NICs, But router can help you to keep those people whose are trying to HACK into your Computer, instead, your 2 NICs card are NOT. Same go with other Firewall Software expensive.
