My question is two fold.

I've been running the Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless Router at home. For some reason WEP has never worked for me. I've been on the phone for hourse with Linksys but they can't find the reason. Recently I updated my firmware. Now there's a new option to choose between running the router as a Gateway or Router. I'm a little confused because I thought it was a router. I don't want to switch anything before I got someone else's opinion.

My second question is related. I run Apache on my desktop to test php scripts. I downloaded a program called No-IP so the people I work with could check it out. But whenever I type in the domain name it always takes me to my router. Is there anyway to fix this?

Thanks for taking the time to help, I'd appreciate any suggestions.

To answer your second question...In your advanced settings setup port forwarding for port 80 to go to your server. This way anytime the router sees a port 80 request it will just forward it to your server.
I have the same equipment and I am still searching for an answer to the first question.

Straight from the horses mouth (the user guide on linksys site)

"Choose the correct Working Mode. Gateway Mode should be used if the
Router is hosting your network’s connection to the Internet. Router Mode
should be selected if the Router exists on a network with other routers."

Exactly what the difference is I don't know but I assume it has something to do with dynamic routing in where the router will determine the fewest possible hops from the sender to the reciever or at least that's what i've been able to kinda sorta put together.
