Hi. I'm a newbie at this and was wondering if someone could help me out. I have a home network that runs on a dsl connection. I would like to experiment with packet sniffing on my network. I have a wireless router that is connected to a hub. The hub is then connected to my dsl modem. I have it set up so that I can hardwire my laptop into the hub and use a packet sniffing program to successfully record all the data coming in and out of my network. My question is, can I connect a second router to the hub that will be able to broadcast the information wirelessly to my laptop to record rather than using an ethernet cable to connect directly to the hub?

Don't have to be that difficult, if you have 2 laptop that can connect wirelessly to existing wireless router, then install the sniffing program on one of the laptop and connect wirelessly to router, then use the laptop to connect wirelessly as well and also generate broadcast traffic. The wireless network works like a hub, so the laptop with sniffing program will be able to capture the broadcast traffic. Hope this helps..
