Specs: Windows XP
I am a novice, but I called a tech at linksys to help me hook up to my modem and PC bellsouth dsl.I have a black westell. This is a new Linksys wired 4-port. I have not been able to get it working through the internet. The tech put me thru certain steps...including ping 192.168.1.1 and holding the reset several time including shutting down and resetting. He said it was my router so I exchanged it with the same and got the same results. the reason I wanted the router was to get pay perview through my DSL cause I don't have a land line, Don't know what to do I brought the router back and I will be ready to start fresh, any help will be appreiciated. john

Westell is a funny bird. It has it's own web interface that has to be configured first. Call Westell or your provider.

How are you going to get DSL? DSL comes over aland line via the normal telpehone system.

The usual reason for instaling a router is so that multiple computers can share the same DSL connection. Has little to do with pay-per-view. You can do that with just a modem.
