router setting please help!

Please can you help me setup my router on my 2 computers? one is winxp the other win2k. the router is kobian br100. i conected it to winxp on port 1 and win2k on port 2. it only works on win2k now. and sometimes it doesnt work. but on the winxp it sometimes works but its like a 28k modem. i have a telewest broadband modem connected to the router. its a dynamic ip.
