Router see Belkin 802.11G WiFi card as 11B?

Specs: Windows Server 2003 SP2, 3.4ghz/4gb
I've this older Belkin 11g wifi card in my pc, which can either operate as 802.11g or 802.11b mode. I've got it set to 11g, and all instances of it mentioned in Windows that I can find suggest it is in 11g mode, and my router is set up to only allow 11g connections (I have no 11b devices so I turned off 11g/b mixed mode on the router).

Sure enough, the card connects to the router fine. It works perfectly, it's just, even though every other mention of it I can find suggests it is operating as 11g, when I view the connected wireless devices in the router's web interface it shows the MAC address for this device and states it is connected as an 11b device.

What gives?
