now have 3 computers hooked up to internet on dialup using ICS. want to upgrade to cable internet serrvice and get a router. question I have is: using a router, do I continue to use ICS? or does each pc hook up to the router and internet independent of the others? could someone give a brief explanation or suggest a website for me to look at that will detail some of this? Al

If you are going to use a router, you don't need to use ICS also. Connect the router WAN port to the cable modem. If you get a 4 port router, you just connect the computers to the router. If you get a single port router, you need to connect it to a hub UPLINK port. Then you connect the computers to the hub.
