Comment: hi, im experiencing problems with my router, it wont let me connect to battle.net(diablo 2) i've tried to disable antivirus+firewall, ive done port forwarding as instructed on diablo 2 gaming site, but nuthing works, the strange thing is, that if the router has switched off, it will allow me to connect, but only for a short period of time like 5-20 minutes, then it disconnects me. if i run my internet cable directly to the internet receiver, then i have no problems with connection, only when using the router, which is a netgear wgr614v6, plz help me out cuz i have no clue what to do. regards from denmark

Reply: (edit)It's hard to say without doing some hands-on troubleshooting but your router may be in need of replacement. Does this affect anything else? Any other games? Browsing the web? If yes, then likely the router is dieing on you and needs to be replaced. You don't need to port forward to play on battle.net. You would only need to do that if you're going to host a game and have someone else (or several someone elses) connect to you. If you have a friend that has a SOHO router at home, maybe get them to bring theirs over and hook it up and see if you can connect to battle.net through it as a way to test. Or take yours to their house and see if they can connect through it. Or do both.
