How can I expand my wired router to aloow for more than 4 ports, I need 2 or 3 more. Can I simply put a ethernet switch or HUB behind the router and expand from there? Cable Modem > Router > Ethernet Switch or HUB > = Add'l Ethernet Ports for Interenet access.....yes?

Yes, exactly right, but a switch is recommended over a hub.

Thanks, is it really that simple? Just plug in the cat5 and move on? Could I use a 16 port switch with no problems and have many more ports avialble for future expansion or are there size limitations. Just general home use and internet, with no heavy data or gaming, etc. Thanks again.

There's no problem with any size switch/hub.....4 port, 8, 16 or 24

Oh I forgot to mention, while I agree with wanderer that a switch is better than a hub....in a small home environment, the extra congestion of a hub isn't a real problem so if you can find a hub for a better price than a switch, I'd go that route.

You might need a crossover patch lead for that setup. Try it first with what you've got. If it doesn't work get a crossover.
