I just completed the self installation.. My PC is now connected to the internet.

As soon as I switch the connection to my wireless router, I lose the connection. I already had my network already setup before.. do I have to change any of of the standard DHCP router settings ?

review the chapter on setting up wireless which includes encryption [wep/wpa/wpa2] and then setup your wireless interface accordingly.

Is the router configured to authenticate at your ISP, instead of your workstation?

babushaban you get internet when you are wired to the router, correct?

It is only when you connect wirelessly you don't get to the internet?

With wireless enabled and wired disabled, post the results of an ipconfig /all for review.

wanderer & all: thanks for your post. I get internet only when I'm connected (wired) PC-Model.

Once I connect my model to my router (wired or wirelessly) I lose the connection.

I just reset my wireless-router and looking in my manual, but can't find anything about setting up my router to communicate to my cable modem.

Do you have a cable modem? From the modem you have a rj45 patch cable to the wan interface on the router?

Sure you manual has the setup. Its the wan interface setup. wan should be set to get its ip from the modem

What model router do you have?

If wired was working all you had to do was configure the wireless. No point in the reset.
