I have set up a small LAN network in my house and it was working fine.
The system
My service provider is a uk company called NTL via a set top box (STB) with also provides me with a Digital TV. I’m using a (D-link) DI-701 Router and a (D-link) DE-805TP on windows 9X systems with 700mhz & 256 MB ram
The Problem
As of a few days ago I can no longer access the internet via the routerThe Error
As soon as you log on to the internet the 1 of 4 LED lights (power, local link, internet link, reserved) go out I have since found out that this is the local link led that extinguishes. Before this happens all the leds light up apart from the red error led. I then can not find the Router via the D-link setup screen thus the internet hangs.
I know that the signal between the internet link and the local link is working before you log onto the internet as there is active flashing between the two and I know its not the internet connection as I’m using a direct connection to the STB to use the internet now
Is this a problem with the Router?
Any help would be great
Happy new year!
Rich
