Okay guys and gals, here's my dilemma. I am at school and my roommate and I are sharing cable modem service with Road Runner from Time Warner. Okay, my roommate has the hardware setup as follows. Cable from wall>Cable Modem>WebServer(He runs a website off of it)>Linksys Router>My Computer. Regular internet works fine, but because he has a firewall and all kinds of stuff I don't understand on his webserver/website/whatever the hell it is, I can't use Netmeeting or direct connect of instant messenger or download files through file sharing programs...nothing. My computer is just 192.168.0.70 on our little network and to the rest of the internet it is nothing. My question is, is there hardware solution to this? Like can i hook up the wires some other way so that I am on my own unprotected internet connection and he could still have his firewalled/secure little machine? And no I don't wanna call road runner and ask to add another computer to the account because that adds about 30 bux a month. Any help you guys could give would be great. Thanks.

If you make it; cable from wall -> router -> 2 pc's it should work better. Be sure the router supports port mapping, or the webserver will be unavailable for the outside world . . . . .
