Help, in trying to fix networking problem I ran network connection wizard again; now it has reassigned a second IP addy to my computer. It is listed twice w/ IP addys ending in .101 and .102. How can I get it changed back to just one, .101? Have tried removing from router DHCP client table, but it just comes back. Do I need to delete both of them from client table, then rerun network connection wizard again, or???

delete you existing connections first on your xp machine. Then press the rest button on your router to clear your routing table. Then try the wizard again.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Question, I have 3 connections listed, 1394 (disabled, bridged), local area connection (enabled, bridged) and network bridge. Dumb question, if I delete them how do they get re-created? Also, don't have a rest button on my router (at least don't know about one) is that the refresh button on the DHCP table or physically on the unit/) Thanks again

ok go ahead and delete all of them. We need your lan connection but with out the bridge. A bridge is to connect to another segment in the network, dont get that confused with access out side your network the router will route you out of your lan. Check your documentation on the router. When you restart your computer right click on network places and choose properties. Then on network tasks choose create a new connection. then configure to obtain ip auto
