Specs: Windows XP
My router DLINK is not allowing me access to vpn connection to allow me to work from home. I have been given a solution but I think I may have missed a step. My compute knowledge is basic. I was told to open command prompt > type ipconfig>gateway address would show>then type admin and admin again>log in should show >go to settings and choose vpn but the command prompt says there isn't a command admin

You are missing a couple of steps.

When you have the gateway address from ipconfig make a note of it. It will be something like Exit the command prompt by typing exit.

Launch your Internet browser and type in the IP address you just made a note of. You should then get a window asking for user name and password. Type in Admin for both then chose settings and do the necessary VPN configuration.

Thanks for the advice Stuart. My IP gateway address is - but when I type it into internet explorer all I get is a list of websites. I don't get a window to put the user name and password in.
