Yesterday my system stopped connecting to the internet. My Netgear RP614v2 still connects to the machines on my home network but no longer shows a connection to the cable modem. I can connect a pc directly to the cable modem and get a connection, (the one I am using to write this) but neither my Netgear or an older Linksys router seem to connect to the cable modem (as reported by Network Magic). Any ideas? This came on suddenly with no changes being made to the system.

Go to the routers configuration page and check, whether the data for authenticating by your ISP is set and is set correctly.

Checked all of that, went into computer network settings and found a fixed address for the DNS server, changed that back to "Obtain DNS servier address automatically" and things started working again. Not sure this was the real problem but things are back up. I now have screen shots of all setups for the modem, router and laptop.
Thanks for the advice.
