Subject: Router as a hub? OS: XP Pro CPU/Ram: XP2400 512DDR

Comment: I need some help please. I bought a linksy 4-port ADSL router, but I only see now that my USB ADSL modem wont connect to it, as it only has the rj11 connecter and the USB connector :( Still, for the time being, would I be able to use the router merely as a hub, so the other pc can connect via a LAN set-up in XP? It's really stressing me out. Thanks

Reply: (edit)Yes you can use it as a hub. Configure your workstations to dhcp. They should grab a address from the router. But if you got the wrong unit why aren't you returning it and getting the correct one?

Reply: (edit)The place where we bought only returns if the item is faulty, they say it is up to the customer to ensure that the product is what they want before they buy it :( I'll give that dchp thing a go, thanks
