This question has probably been asked before but I can't find the answer.

I have a linksys befsr41 router and am trying to connect to rogers@home with it. I'm running win xp and everything I've tried doesn't work so I figure I must be entering the wrong info into the router. Does anyone know exactly what to enter for the host and domain name for rogers. Also is it PPoE RAS or disable for the login. Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, although my name is fake, the info will help. You may have to put a name on your router. If you PC works, then use the same name on the Router - From a command prompt on your PC, type ipconfig /all look for this: "Host Name" (might be something like cx545876-a) - put this is the Linksys\Setup page Host Name field. Then look for this: "Connection-specific DNS Suffix" and put this value in the Domain Name field. Go to the router (IP:8080) and login - if default, no username, password admin. LAN IP Address you can leave default, WAN IP Address should be set for Obtain and IP...
If you need PPPoE and have a username and password, then check PPPoE and enter the info below. To verify you receive an IP from your ISP, click the Status page and look under WAN:
Hope this helps.
