I routed my mom's computer to share the roadrunner cable connection we have, but her internet runs a great deal faster than mine. Does this have something to do with the settings or the router? Is there anyway I can fix this, or make mine run at the same speed?

Is your computer using a wireless networking card? If you are and she is using an ethernet cable, yours will not run as fast as hers, but it still should be fast.

Check and see if you have any spyware/adware on your computer. Ususally that stuff attempts to access the internet, and will slow down your connection.

Make sure your nic card is "not" hardcoded for speed and duplex , it should be set as autonegotiate , this is the only valid setting for these cheap home routers . you can not set it as 100/full this cause a speed/duplex mismatch and cause errors .
