Hello,
Say I want to send out an email, through a certain SMTP server, which only allows certain IP's. If I’m offsite on a denied IP, and I want to send my email through that SMTP server, how can I route my traffic through my VPN in outlook/outlook express, so it uses a legit IP? I tried adding a second default gateway, and put the VPN's numbers in, no luck though.

Thanks to anybody with ideas

What type of VPN are we talking about here? If it is a PPTP Windows-based VPN, then you can configure your client software to use the option for "Use default gateway on remote network". This should attempt to route all outbound traffic through your VPN, to the remote network. Depending on how your remote LAN is configured, this should work.

Smitty,
Im using an Ipsec VPN, and I'm thinking I need to somehow use the route command in dos, to specify my route. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help

Well I kept reading about IPCOP some more, and found they have a OpenVPN module for it. I installed it, and installed the client software, and read how to route tcp/ip traffic through the tunnel. Everything is running good

I added the DNS servers for my SMTP to work... When you check the box, use default gateway, you aren't able to access the internet outside the LAN
