Hello
I have just installed a RJ45 wall jack and when I plug a ethernet cable from
one end of the walljack to the computer the computer sometimes cannot see
the connection. Ex. when I plug the cable in the LED of the back of the
computer lights up but I cannot ping my gateway, and the LED on the hub is
not lit then I will either have to unhook and rehook the cable from the
walljack several times or go to the hub and switch the ports that the cable
on the walljack is connected to.Situation 2: When I reboot my computer or first startup my computer this
happens too and I will have to either switch ports at the HUB or unplug and
replug several hundred times at the jack.The connection does work once I made a successful connection I can surf the
web transfer files etc...Heres a diagram of the structure |server/gateway|------6 ft ethernet
cable------|Linksys switch 10/100 5 port|-----50 ft belkin ethernet
cable-------->>(UPLINK)>>|3Com Office Connect 10Bast T Hub 4 port|Modular
jack head|-------Cat 5e ethernet cable about 48 ft----- = =4 Pairs of wires=
= =|WALL JACK|----6 feet cable--->>Computer.(One end of the cable has a "rj45 head" and the other doesnt, the strands of wires are punched into the jack)
What may the problem be?
Thanks

from what i read... i think it would be best to try and run another line temporary where the wall line is... and see if it works fine. if so, there you go. i see that as being the culprit. good luck... sounds like maybe you just need to repunch the wall jack or something.
