Hi all,
I am doing some wiring in an older building and the only place to run an ethernet cable was through a hole which has a thick black industrial sized electrical wire sharing its space. The ethernet cable is from a pc wired using a 100 ft long cable then into a hub which is sharing connection with a computer already 40 feet away from the server. How much does this distance affect speed? Does the electrical cable affect my ethernet cable? Does anyone know a good web site detailing redoing an rj45 connector, as i may have broken the plastic end? Thanks, Im new to networking.
