Hello. I have a home wireless network with 2 other home computers connecting to mine via a router. I have recently enabled sharing of some folders. The only problem I have is I want a certain user to have access to only a few folders and the other user to have access to all. With Windows xp I noticed this cannot be done, that all users on the network could have access to all shared folders. Is there a way to restrict access to some shared folders for a certain user besides password protecting the folder? If anybody knows I would appreciate your help very much. Thank you.

You don't say wether you are using Windows XP Home or Pro. If you are using XP Pro you can enable Advanced File Sharing to specify user level access.
If you are running XP Home, one option would be to create hidden shares. Just put a dollar sign ($) at the end of the share name and it will not be visible on the network. you could then map the hidden shares for the user's accounts on each computer they use to have access to the share. However other users could gain access of those shares if they know what the names of the shares are.

"With Windows xp I noticed this cannot be done, that all users on the network could have access to all shared folders." That's completely untrue. All you need to do (assuming you're running NTFS) is to set Share and File permissions according to the access you want the users to have. It's not difficult.
