Reset User Password

Specs: Windows XP Home
I am attempting to reset the user network password on a client PC running XP Home connected via a workgroup to a Windows 2003 server.
I have tried to check the box on the server "user must change password at next logon" but this won't let me logon with a new or the old password. Can anyone advise the solution?

The problem is with XP Home.

Computer accounts do not have passwords. User accounts have password. You need to change the user's account on the client computer. Workgroups don't authenticate to Servers as far as accounts are considered.

I have mapped network shares on the client which if I open I have to logon with a username and password. This username and password is not listed in the user accounts, just have administrator and guest and changing them has no effect on the network logon.
