Specs: Windows 7 Pro

I would like to know how to change the info shown about my network connection. I switched from cable internet to DSL and after I did the new connection shows up as 'Network 2'. I can change the name of the connection from 'Local Area Network' to whatever. What I want to change is the 'Network 2' back to just 'Network'. Below are links to (2) screen captures showing what I am talking about:

Thanks for any help. I have searched and searched and found nothing.

Just right-click on the connection your network connections. You should be able to just rename it there.

Thanks for the reply. I know I can rename the name of the connection that way, but that doesn't let me edit the 'Network 2' information (see links to the screen captures in main post). It only lets me edit the 'Locel Area Network' part of it. Thanks!

I figured it out!! I had done a registry search for 'Network 2' and couldn't find anything, but it turns out that it was actually named 'Network 2' (w/ 2 spaces instead of just 1). I was able to simply right click and modify the names where it appeared in the registry, and renamed them all to just 'Network'. That did it!
