Removal of adware or malware

Specs: Windows XP

This is my first post in this forum. Just as well, I also have my first virus on my computer.

I have been managing with my computer using the Task Manager. It seems that some virus has attacked Windows Explorer. In addition, because of this, the desktop, icons, the taskbar, all have disappeared.

On starting my computer, a notice appears; “The ______ has encountered a problem and needs to close”, saying that a program is trying to run malicious code, which only Windows uses. The same happens with another application called DDM Proxy, also by the Microsoft Corporation.

To add up to the problems, the computer gets stuck, or "freezes" after repeated clicking of the mouse button, seldom proceeding without shutting of the computer by continuous pressing of the Shut Down button.

I installed Avira's free virus program. It investigated and deleted about sixty viruses, a dozen in the second scan, and five in the last attempt.

Lastly, I installed Spyware Doctor from PC Tools, and detected twenty-six viruses. I could not delete the viruses, as my software was a free trial. The report came out with the results; registry badly infected, all of them helping companies presenting ads when Internet Explorer opens.

As for my help, does anybody know of an application that removes all known malware, adware and spyware? No Aviras and Spyware Doctors please. I already have them and my computer state is worsening.

If anyone knows of a program that can effectively remove and safeguard my computer against future virus attacks, please do post a link in reply to this post. Moreover, as for the forum rules, regulations and violating acts, please also do let me know.

I generally you must disconnect the computer from the internet before start removing viruses.

Many viruses will download itself again, if it gets deleted and installes again.

In this case, it's a battle between e.g. Avira and the viruses. The virus will install and Avira will clean.
So your pc gets 100 percent utilization and you'll never succeed.

The first thing is, NO INTERNET, then beginn to clean your system.

Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!

Since this is your first post, might I suggest that you review the list of Forums on this site. There is a Security/Virus Forum where this post would be better addressed. However, do not repost there...That's against the Rules.

Disable System Restore. Download and install MalwareBytes available here: After you run it, remove everything it detects.
