CPU/Ram: amd 1300

I have 2 x W98computers networked via crossover cable NOT on the Internet and only 1 screen/keyboard. How can I remotely shutdown one of the screens to prevent Scan reg running everytime I close it down using on/off switch? If it is VNC which I have tried could some-one PLEASE tell me what to enter where ...I'v tried all day Im now at a complete loss!!

Scan reg? Do you mean the scandisk that runs when you don't properly shut down your computer?

You can disable that by editing c:\msdos.sys

Look for AutoScan=1 and change it to AutoScan=0

if that is it (which is what i was thinking too) why dont you just shut the computer down properly?

On the VNC screen just click START - Shutdown - Shutdown
