Dear all
I am a network administrator in an industry. There are 55 computer and one dell server connected within a domain, I also have a 2Mbps broadband internet connection that is sharable by squid proxy on linux machine. during working hours I manage (most of computers/users having some problem) through remote desktop/VNC.

But I want whenever I will be out of my workplace would I connect to my client pc?
As I know I can make a remote connection only to my proxy machine b’coz that is directly connected to internet. and all other computers have private ip address.
How could I get their public ip address that NAT provide?

If any other way available please some one tell me?

Thanks in advance

Your question is not very clear. I think you want to get remote access to your client PCs through a public IP address.

Dont you think there is something wrong with wanting to do that? - If you can access you client PCs through a public IP address so can ANYONE else.

There's a large probability that your NAT is using port address translation in which case you only have one public IP address in which case you wont be able to find individual PC public IP addresses. Or if you are true NATting then you should be easily able to get the translation from your firewall (if you have access to your firewall).

Why not do like the rest of us for remote manage and VPN into your network and use your clients private IP addres?

Or why not remote access into that linux machine you speak about and RDP/VNC to your client's PCs from there?

Best way to configure VPN connection and you will be able to access from remote area.

There are diffrent way to make VPN server , depands on a operating system (Server 2003, Window XP etc.)

Anyhow you need a vpn server on your office computer where public ip line is being droped and 2nd is you need a client VPN on sytem from where you want to access of your office network.

After making successfull connection you can access to client pc by using the remote desktop application.

Agreed, RDP or VPN would be the solution your seeking.

VNC also works well.
