I have a remote desktop connection set up on computers at our commercial office as well as our home computers. I am able to connect via desktop from my office computer to several computers at home as well as my husband's office computer. What I can't do is to connect from home to m y office computer although I can connect to my home computer from that same office computer. I have rebooted the linksys server have pinged and also refreshed connections. I can not think of anything else that I haven't tried. Went through your whole listings of info on remote connection and tried each thing in turn with no luck. I need a stable gateway of communication between the office and the home so that I don't have to drive all the way to the office to gain access to the vital info at the office. Please help any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You have to know the topology first. Any routers, modems, servers, or switches at the office?
Second would be actual access. Can you RDP at work from station to station? I guess that might be first test.
In some cases UPNP devices could allow traffic without user input. Suggest you check that ports and NAT'ing is correct to the office computers.
Some people might suggest other remote access software. Dunno if it is any easier.
Next might be getting into the whole VPN and Domain issue"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Have you contacted your IT People?
