I have two computers, one is running windows XP, the other is running windows 98 (my file storage computer)...
I am able to connect remotely to my XP computer from the 98 computer... However, I am not able to connect to my 98 computer from any other computer in my household.
I have installed microsofts remote software and have enabled remote connections to the best of my knowledge unless I missed something...
How do I confiuge Windows 98 SE, so that it will accept a remote connection from any other computer.
The reason I want to do this is so I can put my computer in a back room and just work on it from this computer instead.

The only remote software that I am aware of that MS supports is Remote Desktop. With Remote Desktop (RD) the Host (i.e. to computer to be connected to) must be Windows XP Professional. You can use the RD client software to connect to the host from other Windows OSes. I am guessing that is the software you downloaded from MS.
A free alternative is RealVNC.
