I am trying to remotely access a server that is connected to the internet using Internet Connection Sharing. I have a workstationg running Windows XP Pro that has a public ip. Then I run a crossover cable to the server running Windows Server 2003. The server has a Private ip of 192.168.x.x and cann only connect when the workstation is connected. I'm wanting to connect to the server, but since it has that Private ip, I'm not sure how. Any suggestions?

If you can afford it, invest in a router that has VPN technology built into it as well as NAT and a firewall. Plug your internet connection directly into it as well as the two PC's. Configure your VPN and you'll be able to connect remotely.
ICS is designed to share the internet amongst clients on the same local network....it's not made to allow remote connections via the internet.
The only software solution that might work would be a 3'd party program like PC Anywhere or something like it.
