I have a Q-see security DVR/Camera set that is attached to my linksys router connected to the internet via cox cable. I have forwarded the ports 80 and 9000, I have created a static IP address 192.XXX.X.109 for the DVR, I have identified my routers external IP address 24.XXX.XX.XXX. The question is is how do I access the router and DVR from a remote computer? Which IP do I use 24.XXX.XX.XXX or 192.XXX.X.X? How does the router know which item I am trying to access? Do I have to list both the external and internal IPs and the port I am trying to access?

Thanks.

Use the 24.x IP. If you forwarded the ports correctly, it will know where to go.

You should not need to forward port 80 only 9000 if that is what the dvr is set to. Mind is set to 7000
