Ever since I got my router, no one outside my network has been able to view my Apache server. I've tried so many things to try to get it to work, but it seems that none of it was successful. Do I need to forward anything or set up VPN Software? I don't really know much about any of that. I've updated the firmware for my Linksys router and changed the DNZ host (did what the technician said) but that did not help either.

Anyone have any idea what I need to do? I really need my server and if anyone can help, I will be most appreciative. Thanks.

You can do one of two things:

1) Enable DMZ support in your router config. Then place the server (with a firewall running on it) on the DMZ port.

2) Forward traffic on port 80 to the server's private IP. (Also in the router config).

These should both work.

When doing #2, the "Int. Port" for POP3 and HTTP is 0 -- what should I set them to?

On the BEFSX41, there is no "Int. Port" field. You can set a range of ports (ex. 80-443), a protocol type (TCP and/or UDP), and a private address.

Do you have a POP3 server? If no, then you can leave that alone as far as forwarding is concerned.

I would assume "Int. Port" stands for Internal Port. If so, then set HTTP to port 80.

I don't have a POP3 server, but it won't let me close that because it says it's still 0.

Close?

We are not closing anything. We are setting predetermined ports for a certain server address. I have no idea where you are in your router configuration. What model do you have?

By closing, I meant leave the forwarding area.

Okay, documentation for your router is not readily availible.

Let us try this: For POP3, put in 110. For HTTP, put in 80. Will this satisfy the router?
