hi, i wanna remote access my work computer from my home but not sure how to do it!!
i've both dynamic IP at both area(home and work) and the computer and work is behond a router.my work IP (220.xxx.xxx.xx) dymanic IP change about 2-3 hrs once and the work computer IP is (192.168.0.2) so how can i get access to the computer?? i have already port forwarded (86) using the (220.xxx.xxx.xx) instead of (192.168.0.2) but not if this is the correct way.
would you guys please helps
many thanks
i'm using XP pro on both pc

My suggestion would be to setup a free account at www.logmein.com This will allow you to remote control your computer from anywhere via port 80. Therefore you won't have to worry about port forwarding through a router. Not to mention since your IP is always changing, you couldnt really setup port forwarding to a specific ip. Logmein can track your computer dynamically though, so it won't be a problem. Hope that helps.

let me explain in detail, the computer at work is or the cctv monitoring and its within a lan which is when i type (http://192.168.0.16:86) then i can c the live steaming on the network. and the ip for the computer is (192.168.0.2) and the router ip is (192.168.0.1) and my IPS at work is giving me a dynamic IP which mean when they test the connection of my area i'll get disconnected and give me a new ip again. but normally i will have (220.xxx.xxx.xxx).
so my question is how can i remoto control from home to work computer "(192.168.0.2)"
i know how to remote control with in a lan. but not sure how to control a computer behind
router.pleas help!!
thanks alot

Let me clarify. The above post that I have written is what would work for you. Port 80 is the Internet Port (http) and therefore can pass through the router. Since you have dynamic addressing, you will need something like logmein.com, which is free, to remote in without a problem.
