Recently I installed some remote control software's in my office and home pc. . But when I tried to connect to my office pc, from home using it ..it was impossible.

My office pc is connected to the internet through cable (LAN) and the pc at my home uses dialup to connect to the net..

The server of office pc starts automatically and but whenever I tried to connect to the pc, I was not able to do so, can you please tell me the reason.

Also my server was showing 192.168.0.xxx as the ip but when I checked in some web pages it was mentioned as 10.10.10.x…. can a pc have more than one ip ?

Thanking in advance for the support!

Dilip

If you have a highspeed internet router with a firewall up, it will block the attempted connection unless you do some port forwarding. Alternatively, if your router has VPN endpoint capabilities you could use that instead but you'll have to configure that as well.

In order to help more what type of remote software are you using?

192.168.0.xxx is your internal IP on the network

it is possible to have 2 ip's one internal and one external(internet)
it is also possible to have 2 internal ip;s but requires more than 1 network card
