I had to re-install Windows XP on my laptop today and now I have no internet connection. I have a D-link router and still have connection on my desktop, but can't seem to figure out how to get connection on my laptop. HELP!!

Look in device manager. You probably haven't installed your chipset and NIC drivers.

You will also probably need to configure your security settings once your NIC has it's drivers and detects your wireless network.

After reinstalling the windows there is a CD of drivers, maybe your network card is not installed and the driver is in this other CD, let me know, take care, Thanks.

Hi Toblerone,

After installing the OS did u install the
drivers for the NIC?

Still if you face the same problem, Check the
device manager and what is the status that
your getting in the Properties window?

If its a wireless computer check you are able
to see the available wireless networks.

Try to connect with the wireless network and
check you are getting a valid ip address.

Thanks and Regards,
L8ian

Not too sure whether you want to connect to network wired or wirelessly, you can take a look on this wireless adapter and wired network adapter configuration to help you.
