Comment: Hey all I need a program that can regulate the bandwidth usage of different programs I run. Maybe like some kind of priority system, where I can set some programs to have priority over bandwidth to others, or maybe a program I can allocate certain amounts of bandwidth to certain programs. Does anybody know of such a program? Preferably one that doesn't have a proxy server effect, but if there is no alternative I'll try one that acts as a proxy server. Thanks 'Shady

Reply: (edit)Bandwidth control traditionally target the LAN/WAN bandwidth going to/from a workstation (PC)... Controlling the "bandwidth" of an app is more a CPU/Memory resource issue perhaps better handled by setting the process/task level (priority) or process service(s). Is this doesnt make sense, be specfic or your needs. P2E

Reply: (edit)OK, I tried changing the CPU priority levels of my programs, one program that I need to have 100% priority over my Internet bandwidth I even changed to Realtime priority, while changing my file sharing program to Low priority. It didn't make any difference. What I need is something that regulates how certain programs use Internet bandwidth. I run file sharing programs which often take up all my bandwidth (regardless of what I set throttling inside the programs themselves), I browse the web, as well as a couple of other programs that need a small amount of bandwidth all the time to run properly. I need a program that ensures these priority programs ALWAYS get the bandwidth they need, as well as stopping my file sharing programs from chewing up all my bandwidth. 'Shady
