Registering DNS server problem

Specs: Windows XP SP2
I am having an internet connection in my home pc. Now I am unable to connect the internet. while checking the status of the nic card, it was showing Registering DNS server Problem. Kindly Contact ur service provider. Service Provider people told that it is ur system problem. Nic card is properly working & it was showing properly in my device manager. i am using windows xp sp2. Kindly help me any one.

post the results of an ipconfig /all for review.

ISP is correct in that you should not need to register your workstation with dns.

In Cmd prompt while using ipconfig/all it was not showing any ip

Post output of ipconfig /all.. otherwise we are guessing in the dark.

Without seeing the results and depending on what you mean by not showing ANY ip, it sounds like NIC issues. But will wait for output.
