Read-only error for one specific us

When one of my users logins and tries to read documents that she created, she cannot edit and save those documents because they have become read-only. When these same documents are copied into someone elses directory, there is absolutely no problem opening, editing and resaving.
The first time this happened we just created a new login for her, but there has to be a real fix instead of band aid. Why is this just happening to her? She does use more than one computer in the lab. Does this have anything to do with her problem?

When logged in as her can you reproduce the reported results? Can she take off the read only attributes? Are these files being copied from a read only source?

When logged in as the user I can duplicate the results. I can uncheck the read only attributes box but it returns the next time I open the document.

The file will inherit the folder permissions.
If the folder is read only, the file will be also.
Or it might be that the folder had the Traverse options set, allowing access to the file, but no the folder.
