Re establishing Trust relationship

May 5, 2009 at 11:11:04
Specs: Windows 2003
Recently i have upgraded our windows 2000 domain to
windows 2003 domain. Right now both Forest Functional level
and domain Functional level is windows 2003. We had trust
established with another domain in another forest,
when we have FFL and DFL in windows 2000 natvie

After upgrading we lost the trust relationship. Now when i
ask the other end to re - establish the trust one more
time, they checked from their end and confirmed that the
trust already exists. But i am not able to do the same
checking (verify or query) from my end.

I removed entry from AD Domains & trusts column and
tried to readd the same domain and it fails saying the
error "The mentioned domain cannot be contacted". I
have proper DNS entry and nslookup shows the
correct server details.

Anyone Please help me to re establish the trust.

I would start by having the other end break the trust relationship and then try reestablishing it. Do that and get back to us and let us know if that worked or not.

BTW, this is not a network issue.....and this post may have been better off in the "Win Server 2003" forum.

Thank you, I did that. I broke the trust from my end and
coordinated with other end to do the re-establishment. Now
everything works fine all from my PDC (sharing folders and
documents). other resources (windows XP client machines) are
not able to share the folders. Please help me.
